The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to the development of a national digital learning platform aimed at ensuring inclusive and equitable access to quality education for all Ghanaian students.

This came to light when the Ministry of Education hosted a strategic meeting with key stakeholders to advance the development of a Country Action Plan (CAP). The plan among other things aims at strengthening teacher capacity in Ghana.

The strategic engagement brought together representatives from the European Union–Regional Teachers’ Initiative for Africa (EU-RTIA) Facility Team, the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA), and the National Teaching Council (NTC).

The primary objective of the meeting was to advance the development of a comprehensive Country Action Plan (CAP) focused on strengthening teacher capacity in Ghana.

Key areas of discussion included the formulation of a Green Skills Competency Framework and the integration of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) strategies for educators. These frameworks are expected to provide the foundation for a more resilient, skilled, and responsive teaching workforce.

The EU-RTIA Facility is set to offer crucial technical assistance to guide the design and implementation of these policies.

The Education Minister, Mr Iddrisu, welcomed the support and underscored the importance of sustained collaboration with development partners in achieving Ghana’s educational goals.
