The Minority in Parliament has called on the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), to as matter of urgency cancel all leaked and suspected leaked WASSCE, papers.

According to the Minority, WAEC is expected to ensure fairness and integrity of the examinations it conducts, but this does not appear to be the case in the ongoing WASSCE.

Speaking to Ibrahim Kwarteng on GBC’s “Behind The News”, the Ranking Member on the Education Committee of Parliament, Peter Nortsu-Kotoe, said they are worried because WAEC delayed the investigations into the leaked papers.

He noted that all these acts are occurring because WAEC is not under a regulatory body. He said these acts undermine the integrity of the examinations, the integrity of WAEC, and dents the image of Ghana before the international community. Mr. Nortsu-Kotoe said those who are behind the leakage must be brought to book.

Executive Director of Africa Education Watch, Kofi Asare, advocated a body to regulate examination bodies in the country.

The President of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), Isaac Jay Hyde, said the blame of the leakage must not be put on the student, but WAEC, because there are genuine students who learnt so well.

  1. But if u find thoughs who are engaged to the leakage of their exams and withdraw them from the body is better that making students to be confused with their exams leading their failures. I think if the body should find the people who is responsible for that
