As a developing country like Ghana, there is the need to pay critical attention to the rate at which citizens are committed to accumulating and using information from various sectors without relegating the role of libraries.

With this keen interest, GBC news visited various cluster of schools and amongst one is Kwabenya MA Basic school in the Ga East municipal assembly who have turned their library into classroom due to inadequate claasrooms.

George Ampadu a basic 3 teacher expressed his worries that several attempts to call on the government to come to their aid but all to no avail so they had no option to turn their library and even the ICT centre into classrooms.

Some students also registered their displeasure over lack of library in their school thus making their research difficult. Esther a JHS 2 student says ” I have to go round in search of books for my assignment which makes it so stressful”. Esther shares the dream that there is the need for libraries to be available in all schools especially the basic level.
