The Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku, Benjamin Ayiku Narteh, has urged pupils writing the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to maintain a positive mindset.
He encouraged them to remember that the exam questions are based on what they have been taught in the classroom over the years.
Mr. Ayiku Narteh gave the advice when he presented mathematical sets to all 3,776 BECE candidates in the constituency.
He explained that, considering the financial burden most parents face in clearing arrears before their wards are allowed to sit for the exams, he decided to ease part of the pressure to help both parents and candidates focus better and approach the exams with confidence.

Mr. Ayiku Narteh also cautioned candidates against examination malpractices.
“I do this to take away the fear of examinations. I started with support during mock exams so they could get used to the format of the questions. Some of these questions even appear in the actual BECE. They should be steadfast and write with confidence,” he said.
“No one should get involved in any form of examination malpractice, as that could lead to the cancellation of your examination papers.”
“I urge you to heed all advice from us, your teachers, and your parents so you can gain admission to your school of choice for the next level.”
The Ledzokuku Municipal Chief Executive, Israel Nii Adjetey Otchwemah, said the Assembly, in collaboration with the MP, has put adequate measures in place to ensure the success of the examination.

He stated that Ledzokuku, like any other municipality, deserves the best and wished all candidates well.
“The MP’s continuous support for education has been very impactful. Since he began this act of benevolence, the performance of our students in the municipality has improved, with many gaining admission into top second-cycle institutions under Ben Ayiku’s leadership.”
He added, “As much as all stakeholders, including teachers and parents, have played their roles, all I wish the candidates now is good luck.”
The Municipal Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Education Service, Richard Gyimmah, who was grateful to the MP for his continued generosity, acknowledged the relief it has brought to many parents.
He encouraged the candidates to give their best, write the exams with confidence, and come out victorious.
