Information picked up by GBC’s Radio Ghana from Wa indicates that the Wa Polytechnic Rector, Professor Emmanuel Owusu Marfo has been suspended for the second time last Friday after he allegedly failed to attend a meeting organised by the Council.

A High Court in Wa last week quashed the suspension of the Rector on the grounds that the Rector was not given fair hearing before his suspension.

Information gathered indicates that the Council allegedly invited the Rector on Tuesday to come for a meeting on Friday to be given the opportunity to respond to certain issues but he failed.

The Council therefore went ahead to suspend him and constitute a committee to investigate him.

The Rector was said to have been locked out last Thursday when he went to the Polytechnic around 1:15PM.

Meanwhile, some residents of Wa have expressed serious concerns over the protracting nature of the crisis at the Polytechnic.

Speaking to Radio Ghana, some residents said it was wrong for the Polytechnic to have locked the Rector out.

The said if management and the Rector do not soften their stance, the Polytechnic will lag behind in both academic and infrastructural development.
