The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has affirmed full responsibility for the medical expenses related to midfielder Francis Abu’s recent surgery.
Henry Asante Twum, Communications Director of the GFA, disclosed that the association is covering the cost following Abu’s injury during international duty.
Francis Abu, who plays for Toulouse FC, suffered a broken ankle during Ghana’s match at the Kirin Cup last Friday in Nagoya, Japan.
The injury occurred in the course of the game, forcing the player off the field on a stretcher amid visible distress. Immediate medical attention was provided, ensuring prompt care.
After being transported to Toyota Memorial Hospital, Abu underwent successful surgery to repair the ankle.
The operation was conducted without complications, and the GFA provided an official update confirming the player’s medical procedure and status.
