The World Phygital Summit 2025 is set to take place from May 28 to 30 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, bringing together industry leaders and stakeholders to advance the evolution of phygital sports and competitions. Igor Boumekpo, President of the Ghana Esports Federation, will be representing Ghana’s e-game community at the event.
Ghana Esports is a member of the World Phygital Community (WPC) and Boumekpo believes phygital sports is a perfect fit for Ghana, given the country’s passion for sports and booming digital youth culture.

The hybrid format energized players and teams, blending their passion for console gaming with on-field athleticism”; Igor Boumekpo said.
The summit promises to be a platform for collaboration, innovation, and sharing of insights among industry pioneers. Attendees can expect a comprehensive review of the 2024-2025 WPC season, expert panels, discussions, and presentations on the latest trends and developments in phygital sports.
Boumekpo expressed his excitement about the growth and evolution of esports in Ghana and Africa, highlighting the sense of optimism and unity it has brought to the gaming community.

The World Phygital Summit 2025 is the second edition of the event, following its successful inaugural event in Istanbul in June 2024. During the first summit, Dubai was announced as the host city for The Games of the Future (GOTF) 2027. This year’s event is expected to generate excitement, particularly with the upcoming reveal of the host city for GOTF 2027.
The summit will provide a platform for meaningful connections, new ideas and support for the ongoing expansion of the phygital sports landscape. With Dubai’s vibrant backdrop, the event is poised to be an essential gathering for industry enthusiasts and pioneers.
