At a press briefing on Sunday, the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah held a minute silence in honor of the late Kofi Annan, afterwhich he announced the upcoming African Green Revolution Forum (AGRF) to be held in Ghana.

The hosting of AGRF is very important to Ghana because of who and how the idea was birth.

The founding Chairman of AGRF is a former UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan of blessed memory.

Former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan

Kofi Atta Annan was a Ghanaian diplomat who served as the seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations from January 1997 to December 2006. Annan and the UN were the co-recipients of the 2001 Nobel Peace Prize.

Coincidentally Sunday, August 18, 2019 marked exactly one year since  Busumuru Kofi Annan departed from this earth.

It was Kofi Annan who insisted and brought AGRF to Africa.

Ghana was the first country to host the Forum and 9-years later Ghana becomes the first country to host again.
