Ghana is gearing up to host the U-20 WAFU A&B Boys Cup, scheduled to take place in Accra from June 15 to 30, 2025. The tournament will bring together 16 countries from the West African region, including Cape Verde, Senegal, Nigeria, and host nation Ghana, in a unified competition that promises to enhance regional football development.

This marks a huge moment for Ghanaian football, following the successful hosting of the CAF African Schools Football Championship at the University of Ghana Stadium in April.

The matches for the U-20 WAFU A&B Boys Cup will be played at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, with the grand final set to take place at the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra.

The tournament’s objective is to foster competition and development among young football talents across West Africa. By uniting teams from both WAFU A and WAFU B zones, the competition aims to provide a platform for emerging stars to showcase their skills and potentially pave the way for future international careers.

This inaugural unified U-20 tournament represents a new chapter in West African football cooperation. Previously, the zones held separate competitions that also served as qualifiers for the U-20 CAF Africa Cup of Nations.

The Ghana Football Association is confident that hosting this event will not only promote football development but also strengthen regional ties through sports.
