The Ghana Health Service has cautioned parents with children under four not to miss the Inactivated Polio Vaccination IPV campaign currently ongoing across 260 districts across the country.

Director of Public Health at the Service Dr. Badu Sarkodie said the threat of polio is real and the Service recording 16 cases since July last year is worrying.

He said the dangers associated with a child who is unable to take the vaccine is immense therefore every child within the age bracket must be made to take the vaccine.

Dr Badu Sarkodie said the Service hopes to capture more than two million children during this round of vaccination. He said should there be any possible extension the service will communicate it to the public.
