The Minister for Communications, Mrs Ursula Owusu- Ekuful has decried the huge skills shortfall of women in the ICT sector.
In most institutions, the number of men in ICT outnumber that of women. A situation which the Minister said does not augur well for Ghana, especially, when it is aiming at achieving SDG Goal 1, 5 and 10, which are aimed at reducing poverty and achieving Gender Equality.
Mrs Erkuful was speaking in Accra at an Open day for award Winners of GIRL-IN-ICT from the Western Region.
She called for urgent measures to be put in place to ensure the promotion of ICT Careers among young people.
