Gov’t presents seven pickup vehicles to Bono, Ahafo & Bono East Regions

Government has provided seven pickup vehicles to augment health care delivery in the Bono, Ahafo and Bono East Regions.
The Bono Regional Minister, Evelyn Kumi Richardson, said government is poised to ensure that the people receive quality health care.
Transport is a key part of the healthcare delivery effort which makes it possible for outreach programmes, monitoring and supply of medicines and other medical consumables to especially rural communities.
But according to Ghana Health Service sources, there are challenges in their transport needs. Out of 29 Districts in the former Bono-Ahafo area, only five have vehicles less than five years old. Meaning that 24 districts have transport challenges.
But only seven benefited from the latest package of Pick Up vehicles from the government.
They are Techiman North and Atebubu-Amanten in Bono East, Asunafo South, Asunafo North and Tano North in Ahafo and Berekum Municipal and Tain in Bono.
The presentation was witnessed by District Directors of Health Service from the beneficiary Districts as well as officials of the Ghana Health Service and the Bono RCC.

The Bono Regional Director of Health Service, Dr. Kofi Issah, urged his Directors to use the vehicles to shore up quality healthcare Delivery.

The Regional Minister, Evelyn Kumi Richardson said Government is determined to provide the necessary tools to make the health sector vibrant.
