Exposure to sun and fire has no effect on humans – Dr. Aaron Asare

The CEO and Senior Medical Consultant at a Hospital in Sunyani, Dr. Aaron Asare, has assured the public, that exposure to high temperatures from the sun and cooking fires has no significant effect on humans.

According to him, the human body has the ability to adapt to various degrees of heat without any consequences.

Dr. Asare disclosed this to Radio Ghana in an interview on the effects of walking in the sun.

In the tropics where temperatures continuously rise from sunlight, people entertain fear that walking in the intense heat could have health implications on them.

The same concern covers exposure to cooking fires. Some immediate health complications usually attributed to extreme heat include, fainting, dry skin and sunstroke.

According to him, Vitamin D, which is essential for the body is mostly derived from sunlight, adding that, sunlight in this part of the continent is not severe for the body.
