Government says Ghana is very keen on being the first in Africa to produce a vaccine for COVID-19 as well as an EPI vaccine not only for the country, but the continent and beyond.
Additionally, government is considering establishing a Vaccine Development and Production Institute, to be known as the Ghana Vaccine Institute, with a mandate to come up with home grown Candidate Vaccine in the future.
The Presidential Advisor on Health, Dr. Anthony Nsiah Asare, made this known at Agogo in the Asante Akyem North District of Ashanti, at the opening of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology-International Vaccine Institute Collaborating Center.
