The Ministry of Health (MOH) in collaboration with the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has launched a Health Promotion Division to strengthen health delivery in the country.
The division is expected to help influence behaviour change among individuals, families and communities and also adopt positive lifestyles to promote health.
Speaking at the launch, the Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Anthony Nsiah-Asare said efforts are underway to expand the National Health Insurance Scheme to help reduce cost of health and prevent diseases that could derail the gains made in the health sector.
He added that health promotion is a cost effective mechanism that is capable of addressing the health issues in the country.
