Oaks FC has secured their spot in the Women’s Premier League after a commanding 4-1 victory over Rootz Sistaz in the penultimate game of the GFA Regional Women’s Championship. The impressive win confirms Oaks FC’s qualification for the upcoming season, showcasing their dominance in the ongoing qualification league.
The team’s consistency and strong performance throughout the tournament have made them clear contenders for the top spot in the Southern Zone. The match saw Hearts of Oak’s female team demonstrate their attacking prowess early on, with Fati Ibrahim curling home a stunning free kick in just the eighth minute.

Their early goal set the tone for the game, as they quickly established their intention to secure the win. Victoria Yeboah then doubled the lead nine minutes later, meeting a precise cross from Amanda Mills at the far end, further cementing their advantage.
Following the early goals, Oaks Ladies took control of the game, with Amanda Mills scoring to make it 3-0 before halftime. Mills’ goal came after a period of sustained dominance from the team, which was led by former Black Queens coach Mercy Tagoe.
Despite creating several first-half chances, Rootz Sistaz struggled to find the back of the net as the scores remained in Oaks’ favor at the break. After the break, Rootz Sistaz responded positively, pulling one back seven minutes into the second half, which briefly revived their hopes of a comeback.
However, Oaks FC swiftly responded, with Esenam Sarafina converting a penalty to restore their three-goal lead. The decisive goal effectively ended any remaining fightback from Rootz Sistaz, sealing Oaks FC’s victory and qualification.

With just one game remaining, Oaks FC sit comfortably at the top of their group with an unassailable lead, ensuring their qualification for the Women’s Premier League next season.
