GHAFTRAM, the umbrella body for registered traditional herbal medicine practitioners, has decried the slow pace in mainstreaming traditional herbal medicine into the national health care delivery system.

GHAFTRAM is worried that even the pilot centres set up in public health facilities across the country are not being patronised, especially by health insurance subscribers.

Speaking to GBC Radio ahead of its congress in Accra Wednesday, the National Organiser of GHAFTRAM, Nana Obiri, said practitioners are hoping the situation will soon change.

It is for this reason that the Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyeman Manu, has been invited to the congress to enable the practitioners to drum home their concerns.
