The Omanhene of New Juaben Traditional Area, Daasabre Kwaku Boateng, in collaboration with the Koforidua Local Council of Churches, has organized a thanksgiving ceremony to thank God for his guidance, protection, and blessing upon New Juaben for the past year.  The ceremony dubbed “Juabenman Thanksgiving to God” was on the theme, “Enter His Gate with Thanksgiving.”

The thanksgiving ceremony brought together religious groups and their leaders, political actors, heads of department, chiefs, and people of the New Juaben, as well as students and teachers from the various second-cycle institutions. The Chairman of the Koforidua Local Council of Churches, Rt. Rev. Dr. Michael Offei-Birikorang in his address, noted that the service is to help strengthen the bond between the traditional leadership and the church in recognizing that both institutions play contemporary roles in shaping moral values, protecting and promoting unity, and fostering holistic development of the area.

The Omanhene of New Juaben Traditional Area, Daasabre Kwaku Boateng, noted that the service is to humbly acknowledge God for his grace and mercy upon New Juaben in the past year. On his achievements, he noted that the royal mausoleum, which was in a deplorable state, has been renovated to become a modern and befitting facility. Daasabre Kwaku Boateng noted the maternity ward of the Koforidua Polyclinic has received a facelift through the provision of essential hospital equipment.

The Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey emphasized that the service is not just an event but a moment to pause, reflect and celebrate the blessings, milestones, and relationships that have shaped their journey in the past year. She reiterated that, assuming office last year in February, they have received a backlog of abandoned projects, especially under GETFund and the District Assemblies across the region. However, they have been able to repackage and award most of the abandoned projects under both funding sources with additional projects.

Mrs. Awatey hinted that the President John Dramani Mahama’s administration will surely deliver what he has assured Ghanaians, and the people of New Juaben will also not be left out. She commended the traditional leaders for their contributions and directions throughout the past year.
