Metro Mass staff embark on sit-down strike today

Workers of Metro Mass Transit Limited have threatened to start a sit-down strike today in demand for the salary arrears for May and June, this year.

Speaking on GBC’s ‘Behind The News’, Chairman of the Junior Staff Union of the company Samuel Quaye said although officials have assured them of payment they will still go ahead with the action.

We generate revenue but currently due to the covid-19 and its related issues, our buses are on the road but with few passengers on board because of the restrictions that the government through the Ministry of Transport has laid down.
