Deputy Minister for Local Government, Decentralisation, and Rural Development, Vincent Ekow Assafuah has lauded the Ghana Statistical Service, GSS, for producing the maiden Multidimensional Poverty Index reports.

This he said is crucial for evidence-based planning and implementation at local levels.

He said the reports will assist in targeting beneficiaries for various programs and projects, and provide baseline data to monitor local development progress.

Mr. Assafuah urged MMDCEs and Members of Parliament to leverage these reports to guide their developmental strategies.

The Maiden report captured poverty levels in all 261 Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies.
