Former Ghanaian professional footballer and founder of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG), Anthony Baffoe has expressed his satisfaction with Ghana’s performance against Germany on Monday March 30 and reaffirmed hope in the Black Stars though he emphasized that the 5-1 loss to Austria was a disaster.
“The five one was a disaster. We couldn’t see any structure. But today, there’s even more hope, especially in the second half. I think we did much better. We were lucky also in the beginning of the first half not to consider, like, two goals, but much better performance than against Austria”,he said.
On Monday, March 30, 2026, the Black Stars played against Germany at the MHP Arena in Stuttgart, Germany, losing 2-1 with Abdul Fatawu scoring for Ghana.
Tony Baffoe further stressed on the need for Ghanaians to keep supporting the Black Stars and reprimanded the team do better. “We have to support them. It’s very, very important. But the technical team, including the players, also, they have to do their job. It’s very, very important talking about doing their job”, he noted.
Other Ghanaian’s also expressed contentment in the game saying “you know the first one, I was a bit disappointed, but with this one, at least, we tried our best to get a one out of two I think they need to work a little harder, because it’s one thing with black stars, once they score, they’re a bit relaxed. But with this game, I’m a bit happy”.
While others were pleased, a die hard fun was disappointed and quoted that, “for me, I was disappointed, though. I think I was expecting better, because I feel like the team missed out on so many chances.
They had a lot of chances earlier, but I mean, they came back stronger. We were all happy when they gave us that one goal. Germany tried and they kept up a good defense there. This is nothing to be happy about because the Black Stars could do better”.
