The Adaklu District Assembly of the Volta Region has begun some vital road projects to open up the area for massive infrastructural development. The homogenous district which consists of about ninety-one communities currently has one tarred road network with several untarred and deplorable roads.

This situation has negatively affected the socio-economic livelihood of the people. The Adaklu District Chief Executive, Phanuel Donkor Kadey at the Assembly’s maiden “Meet the Press” series, was hopeful that the new road projects will pave the way for massive development of the area, so as to be elevated to the status of a Municipality.

The new road project will connect other districts to the district capital Waya.

Mr. Donkor Kadey said about 90 percent of the Districts’ 91 communities have so far been connected to the national grid and gave the assurance that the Assembly is poised to ensure 100 percent coverage of electricity in the next few years.
