The Operation Vanguard Taskforce is calling for discipline and compliance with the law by all stakeholders, especially small- scale miners, as the time to lift the ban draws closer.

This is to consolidate the gains made in halting pollution of water bodies and land degradation.

The Commander of Operation Vanguard Taskforce, Col. Jackson Adua Wonje, says the launch of Anti-Galamsey Unit has not been futile and praised his men for a yeoman’s job.

He however cautioned that the Inter-Ministerial Committee Against Galamsey’s road map must be followed to the letter when the ban is lifted.
