The Ghana Police Service has arrested ten individuals captured in a viral video physically assaulting and humiliating two young women in Wassa Dawurampong, in the Western Central Region. The arrests were carried out by the IGP’s Special Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team in collaboration with the Western Central Regional Police Command.

According to a police statement issued on Wednesday, November 27, 2025, the two women were assaulted over allegations that they had stolen money from a gold-buying shop. The disturbing video showed the victims being harassed, beaten and forcefully shaved with a sharp razor blade.
Three suspects identified in the video Eric Donkor (also known as Killer Block), 32; Yaw Gyimah, 29; and Edmond Nartey, 24, were among those arrested. They were reportedly involved in cutting through the scalps of the victims.
One of the primary suspects, Tawiah, also known as Awaga, who was seen in the video shaving the head of one of the women, is currently on the run. Police say efforts are underway to track him down.
Seven others, Stephen Amu, 24; Farouk Balas, 18; Mensah Bernard, 18; Adu Baggeo, 23; Bismarck Nyarko, 30; Akwesi Poku George, 18; and Oteng Alfred, 23 were also picked up for their roles in aiding and abetting the assault.
The police say all suspects will be screened, after which the main culprits will be arraigned before court.
Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to locate the victims and assist them in receiving medical attention. The Police Administration has assured that the victims will be provided the necessary support.
The Western Central Regional Police Command has also warned the public against taking the law into their own hands, urging that all suspected offenders be handed over to the police for proper legal procedures.
