The Postal and Courier Services Regulatory Commission and the Motor Traffic and Transport Directorate of the Ghana Police Service, have impounded more than 100 unlicensed motorbikes being used for courier services in Accra.

The sting operation is the second in a series and the Commission and the MTTD intend to replicate the exercise in other regions.

Some of the culprits paid the 600 cedis penalty and took their motorbikes away with the instruction to visit the offices of the Commission to register and regularise their activities.

Executive Secretary of the Postal and Courier Services Regulatory Commission, Hamdaratu Zakaria, directed all unlicensed courier service providers to register with it to avoid arrest and prosecution.
