Statistics from the Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate show that a total of 12,396 road traffic accidents were recorded from January to November 2018.
In order to reduce road carnage this festive season, the Directorate is putting in measures to serve as a check on users of the road.
Director General of the MTTD, COP Akuriba Yaagi, at the launch of the 3rd Transport, Haulage and Road Safety Conference and Exhibition, said the MTTD will deploy traffic personnel to all accident prone and traffic congested areas countrywide, to ensure discipline on the road.
