Parliament has approved tax waiver on plant, machinery and equipment or part to be procured by four Companies under the implementation of One District One Factory Programme.
The beneficiary Companies are Camelot Ghana Limited, Favour 01 Limited, Gee’e Fresh Point Limited and Like International Company Ghana Limited.
The requests are to seek approval for the waiver of taxes amounting to:
$2,284,831.00 on plant, machinery and equipment of parts to be procured by LK International Company Ghana Limited;
¢48,396.39 on plant, machinery and equipment or parts to be procured by Gee’s Fresh Point Limited;
$347,174.45 on plant, machinery and equipment or parts to be procured by Camelot Ghana Limited, and
$131,988.00 on plant, machinery and equipment 01 Parts to be procured by Favour 01 Limited.
The benefits from the Projects as captured by the Committee’s report observed that if implemented, a number of benefits would be derived from the proposed projects including the following:
“Increase in employment since people will be employed when the company starts operating;
Reduction in post-harvest losses of fruits by providing alternative market;
Increase in export earnings; and Increase in fruit production in the country.
