Tomorrow, delegates of the NPP will go to the polls to elect and endorse their parliamentary candidates for the December General Election.

The primaries will be held in 168 constituencies and will see three hundred and ten  (310) aspirants contesting in one hundred (100) constituencies.

Sixty-five candidates are running unopposed. Senior Lecturer at the Political Science Department, University of Ghana, Legon, Dr. Kwame Asah-Asante has been explaining the need to promote people participation in the primaries. He said this is a good way to seek commitment from the electorate for votes.

Touching on attrition in Parliament, the Political Scientist said he does not ascribe to protecting seats and that, anyone who has the ambition to become an MP should be given a level playing field to contest.
