The Chairperson of Ghana’s electoral management body, the Electoral Commission (EC), Mrs. Jean Adukwei Mensa has announced at an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting that 708,282 new voters have been added to the Voter Register ahead of the December general elections.
The EC Chairperson Mrs. Jean Mensa in her opening remarks during the IPAC meeting held in Accra on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, admitted that there were some imperfections identified in the provisional voters register, which the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), had raised concerns about but was quick to inform the gathering that the commission has largely resolved errors in the voter register.
Mrs. Jean Mensa has assured all stakeholders that errors in the provisional voters register are not uncommon in any registration process and that the EC is making concerted efforts to rectify them.
