An aspiring assembly member for Ablekuma Agape Pentecost Electoral Area in the Anyaa Sowutuom Constituency in the Greater Accra region, Mrs Irene Pokua-Boadi, has pledged to bring development to the area when she is voted into power.

She said developmental needs, which include a motorable road and portable water, will be her primary focus should the people give her the mandate.

Mrs Pokua-Boadi, who calls herself ‘daughter of the land’, added that she possesses the requisite qualities to lead the people in the forthcoming district assembly elections, which is slated for December 19.

Counting her contributions to society, she stated that her activities from some years ago have positively impacted many lives in the electoral area.

Again, her candidature in the election is not premised on any political party’s support in conformity with Article 248 (clauses 1 and 2) of the 1992 Constitution of Republic of Ghana. She said this makes her a true citizen of the country.

Furthermore, she asked the people to vote for her as a means of adding their voices to the call for women’s empowerment.

Mrs Pokua-Boadi made these statements when she collaborated with KD Medical Centre to organise free help screening for the people in the electoral area.

Some members of the community who spoke to the media said they were determined and unwavering to ensure her victory in the election.

Michael Kweku Ofori described her as energetic, hardworking, and a person with commitment who can help bring development to the area.
