Some governance experts are of the view that the Airbus scandal must not be taken lightly and swept under the carpet. This is due to the dire implications it may have on Ghana’s integrity internationally.

Former Commissioner of CHRAJ, Justice Emile Short, also believes the latest scandal will lead to downward review of the country’s corruption perception index.

He lauded the move by government for the case to be investigated by the Special Prosecutor.

Justice Short, further indicated that other corruption cases must equally be investigated by an Independent Institution and not the Criminal Investigative Department of the Ghana Police Service.

On the issue of conflict of interest of the Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu, Justice Short said if he recuses himself from the case because he was a State Attorney during the scandal, Mr. Amidu’s Deputy Special Prosecutor can take over the investigation.
