Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is urging the John Dramani Mahama-led administration to complete his stalled Agenda 111 hospitals legacy project.

The Agenda 111 hospitals project, a flagship initiative launched after the COVID-19 pandemic during his administration, aimed to build 111 hospitals across the country and improve healthcare access.

Speaking over the weekend at the launch of the Kyebi Government Hospital’s centenary celebrations, organised by the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional State and the hospital, Mr. Akufo-Addo stressed that completing Agenda 111 hospitals would significantly enhance healthcare delivery nationwide and warned against politicising healthcare.

“Agenda 111 was a programme built on a simple but powerful principle: no Ghanaian, regardless of location, should be denied access to quality healthcare. We must be honest; not every project was realised, not every facility was completed.

Some reached advanced stages but could not be finished before our term ended. Agenda 111 must be continued. Continuity, not disruption, is how health systems succeed. What was built must be maintained, what was started must be completed, and what was learned must not be lost. That is how progress is ensured,” the former President said.
