The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called for the immediate arrest and Prosecution of Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Marfo for breaching the Public Procurement Act in the award of contract and payment of one million dollars to UK based company, Kroll and Associates in 2017.

Addressing a news conference in Accra, General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, urged President Akufo-Addo to take action on the case of corruption by the Senior Minister, for it not to appear that, he,the president is enabling corruption and also presiding over the most corrupt government.

Mr. Asiedu Nketia said Auditor-General Domelevo’s fearless fight against corruption and his determination to shine light on the canker is perceived as a threat to the government.

The NDC scribe noted that there are some machinations to remove Mr. Domelevo from office. On the investigation of Mr. Domelevo by EOCO, Mr. Asiedu Nketia said it is unacceptable for the anti-graft agency to invite Mr. Domelevo for questioning but has failed to invite Mr. Osafo Marfo for procurement breaches under the Public Procurement Act.

The News Conference by the NDC follows a similar one last week by 21 civil society groups and their anti-graft partners throwing their weight behind the Auditor-General.
