Asokwa NPP Polls

Delegates at the Asokwa Constituency near Kumasi in the Ashanti region have elected a new set of Executives in an election that saw the retention of most of the incumbent Officers.

However, those who won their respective contests had very strong opposition as most of them won by very small margins. The incumbent Chairman, Reverend Benjamin Fosu Nkrumah polled 491 of the valid votes to beat Kwaku Fosu Opoku who had 227 votes, whileFrank Agyei Darko polled 202 votes. The 1st Vice Chairmanship contest was won convincingly by Edmund Kyei who swept 794 of the votes as against the 128 polled by his only challenger, Nina Amakwah. The delegates retained the 2nd Vice Chairman, Bismark Fofie with 594 of the total valid votes while Malik Manu Addo got 324 votes.

For the Constituency Secretaryship, Papa Yaw had 834 votes to brush aside his sole contender, Charles Oduro who got only 81 of the votes.

The rest of the newly elected Constituency Executives are Deputy Secretary , Eric Adu Fosuh, Organiser, Treasurer, Felix  Appiah, Women Organizer and Georgia Obiri Yeboah, Women Organizer. The Youth Organiser position contest was won by Kwaku Anarfi who garnered 470 votes as against the 451 polled by

Joseph Owusu. The elections were conducted by a team of Officials from the Electoral Commission.
