The Assembly aspirant for Laterbiokorshie electoral area, Mr. David Nii Kwaku Abbey together with his unit committee members have organised a clean up exercise Saturday, December 14  within the constituency.

However, unit committee members are other members who are elected to serve as an advisory and supporting team for the assembly member, which the electoral area will consider them to be fully responsible to govern and function on behalf of the district assembly.

In an interview with Gbcghanaonline, the aspiring assembly member for the area stated that, “the people of Laterbiokorshie need a good and competent leader and he believes he is the perfect candidate for job,” adding that, “also as part of his manifesto, he will organise clean up exercises every three months, that’s a total of four times a year to help eradicate the problem of poor sanitation the area faces and also reduce disease like malaria and cholera among others.”

Another vital aspect Mr. David Nii Kwaku Abbey spoke about was the lack of streetlights.

He said, “there are essential measures taken into consideration to change and fix the faulty streetlights because people in the area use this as an opportunity and engage in immoral social vices but if they are fixed nothing of that sort will ever occur.”

According to Mr Abbey: “I strongly believe and have the full trust of my unit committee members, I know for sure when I win the elections, hopefully, they will also put in their best to help me bring development to the constituency.”

He urged everyone in the area to come out in their numbers on December 17 to cast their votes for the right leader. Mr. David Abbey also cautioned the EC to play its role by organising a free and fair elections.

Below are photos of the clean up exercise:

On December 17, 2019, Ghanaian voters will go to the polls to elect assembly members and unit committee members for the various metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies as it is required by law in chapter 22 of the 1992 constitution.

What this simply means is every metropolitan, municipal and district assembly is permitted by law to have persons representing the electoral areas that make up a district, municipal or metropolitan and the elections should be organised by the Electoral Commission.

As part of the preparations towards the district assembly elections on 17th December, 2019.
