Flagbearer of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Ivor Greenstreet has described the late Jerry John Rawlings as a brave and courageous leader who was instrumental in the success of the 4th Republic.
Mr. Greenstreet who was on a campaign tour in Ada when news broke of the death of former President Rawlings, briefly put his campaign on hold to pay his last respect to the former Head of State.
He sent his condolences to the wife and family of the late Jerry John Rawlings, as well as the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
PPP MOURNS
The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has also expressed its sadness at the untimely demise of former President JJ Rawlings.
The party says, it fondly remembers Mr Rawlings as a legendary revolutionary leader, a nationalist, disciplinarian, pragmatist, and defender of social justice who devoted his entire life to the development and empowerment of Ghanaians.
In a statement signed by the Party’s National Secretary, Paa Kow Ackon, it described the former President as a man of integrity with sublime leadership and his contribution to the socio-political development of Ghana and the continent at large are imprinted in the sand of time.
