EC officials who flout Code of Ethics could face prosecution

The Electoral Commission (EC) has cautioned its officials not to take instructions from any individual or group except the Commission on Election Day.

The Commission said any of its officials who go contrary to this directive will be arrested and prosecuted.

In an address to officials who will be on duty on Election Day, Chairperson of the Commission, Mrs. Jean Mensa, reminded them of their Code of Conduct stressing the need to be punctual to ensure a smooth exercise.

Mrs. Jean Mensa was optimistic the newly-designed ballot papers will help reduce the number of rejected votes.
