The Electoral Commission (EC) says it will embark on the new voters’ registration exercise,  in five clusters.

The Director of Electoral Services at the EC, Dr. Serebour Quaicoe said the exact date for the registration exercise would be announced later but it is expected to start in the last week of June 2020.

He said the Commission has planned to use 38 days for the entire exercise and it was targeting between 16 million and 16.5 million people to register.

About 8500 BVRs are expected to be used for the exercise.

Dr. Quarcoe explained that there will be three days for a mop-up after the exercise adding that the Commission has made provision for all COVID-19 preventive protocols.
