Flagbearer of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama has expressed satisfaction with the turn out in the voter ID card registration by the EC. He said the total number of persons who registered as presented by the EC is within range.
The Electoral Commission at the end of the period scheduled for the nationwide Voters Registration has recorded more than 16 million voters, a figure Mr. Mahama described as satisfactory.
Mr. Mahama was speaking in an interview at Kete Krachi in the Oti Region as part of his four day tour of some Regions in the country. He said though the party had strong objections for the compilation of the new Voters Register, which went ahead, the only way was to encourage people to turn out to register and that has been encouraging.
The NDC Flagbearer described the incident at Banda and other Border towns particularly the Volta Region as worrisome. He stated that the military deployment especially in strongholds of the NDC speaks volumes of intimidation.
