Governace Expert condemns 'massing up' of party supporters at security zones

Local Governance Expert at the Institute of Local Government Studies, Frederick Agyarko Oduro has condemned the ‘massing up’ of party supporters any time politicians are invited by the Police to assist in investigations on issues involving them.

He said it is time politicians tread cautiously in their utterances if they want to be trusted by the people.

Mr. Oduro said no politician must be left off the hook for their utterances if they threathen the country’s security and peace.

Supporters of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) on Monday blocked the main road in front of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to demand the release of National Chairman of the party, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo.

Mr. Ofosu Ampofo was at the CID head office to answer questions on about a viral leaked audio in which he is heard making some comments about the security of some persons and the country ahead of the 2020 general elections.

In the same tape, he is heard telling the audience believed to be executives of the party to attack the Chairperson of the Peace Council Chairman, Professor Emmanuel Asante.
