The Municipal Chief Executive, MCE nominee for the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern Region, Samuel Adongo has received an overwhelming endorsement to become the substantive MCE for the Municipality.
He recorded one hundred percent of the 30 votes cast, consisting of 20 Assembly Members and 10 government appointees in the Assembly.

Mr. Adongo was sworn into office by the Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey as the MCE for New Juaben North. He first swore the official oath of office and later swore the oath of secrecy.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Adongo assured his commitment to create an enabling environment where the visions and aspirations of individuals in the Municipality can flourish.
He called on all stakeholders to come on board and work together to enhance the quality of life for every resident of the Municipality thereby investing in infrastructure, promoting sustainable economic development, and ensuring quality education and healthcare.
Mr. Adongo reiterated his commitment to improved educational facilities and resources, adding that children in the Municipality deserve access to quality education that equips them with the skills they need to succeed in this ever-changing world.
The Member of Parliament for New Juaben North Constituency, Nana Osei Adjei urged Mr. Adongo to put first New Juaben North in all his dealings to help promote the development of the Municipality. He pledged his commitment to the new MCE to ensure that the two of them can work together for the development of the municipality.
Mr. Adongo before his nomination and confirmation as MCE for New Juaben North, was the 2024 NDC Parliamentary Candidate for the Constituency.
The Assembly Member for Jumapo Electoral Area, Jacob Kwame Antwi was elected as Presiding Member of the Assembly after securing two-thirds of the total votes cast.
