A paramount chief of the Nangodi Traditional Area, Naab Pariyoung Kosom Yelzoya Asaga II, has described the 24-hour economy policy by National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama as a game-changing programme that would keep the youth busy while growing the economy.

When the former President met with the Upper East Regional House of Chiefs, Naab Yelzoya revealed that poverty was biting hard on the ordinary Ghanaian and therefore needed someone to deliver them.

“Poverty is biting. It is palpable. You can feel it. This is the only time that I have heard all Ghanaians agreeing that is difficult. In this time, people are looking for something to deliver them. So when you come with 24hour economy, you give hope and excitement to the people.”

“We are happy that you’re coming with 24hour economy and all the other things you’ve tabled before us. 24hour economy, if it is what I understand it to be, I believe it’s going to increase the economy, solve the unemployment issues and I believe more revenue would be generated,” Naba Yelzoya asserts.

The former President John Dramani Mahama has been touring the Upper East Region, dubbed the Building Ghana Tour, to take record of the people’s concerns and inputs for their manifesto going into the 2024 general elections.

He met with the chiefs and people of the Zebilla Constituency, Bongo Constituency, and Bolgatanga East Constituency. He also held town meetings in the Bolgatanga Central Constituency, the Tempani Constituency and the St. John Bosco College of Education.
