John Dramani Mahama.

Former President John Dramani Mahama has thanked the people of the Volta Region for turning out in their numbers to vote massively for the NDC in the 2020 general election.

He said the NDC’s votes appreciated by 113,000 in the Region during the 2020 general election compared to the previous election despite the level of intimidation and harassment by some military personnel before and during the elections.

Former President Mahama was interacting with some religious leaders in Ho as part of his Thank You Tour to the Volta Region. He said the NDC won 17 Parliamentary seats out of the 18 in the region, a clear indication of the love the people have for the Party, adding that circumstances that led to the loss of one seat is clear to the people of Ghana.

Former President Mahama who was the Flagbearer of the NDC in the 2020 general election noted that there has not been an election in the history of the country where some voters were disenfranchised in the Parliamentary election as it was in the case of the people of Santrokofi, Akpafu, Lolobi and Likpe(SALL).

He, therefore, called on faith-based organizations and other stakeholders to come together and make reforms for better future elections.
