Minority Chief Whip, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak says the level of monetisation of Ghanaian politics spells doom for the future of the country’s democracy.

In his view, those with the financial muscles are likely to flood Parliament with no interest in Parliamentary business.

Speaking at a forum with the Core leadership of Parliament, Mr. Mubarak said it is time the State helped to have Career Law makers who will formulate laws for the country.

He said the situation in Parliament is so sad that MPs who fail to attend to Parliamentary business get colleague MPs to write their names in the attendance book to indicate that they were present.

He said the way some MPs lobby to be on certain Committees with the notion that such Committees are lucrative is very shocking and surprising.
