The Member of Parliament, (MP) for Asawase and Minority Chief Whip, Mubarak Muntaka said he regrets the verbal attack that occurred in Parliament between him and the Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyepong on Wednesday, January 31, 2019.

According to him, he wished it had never happened at the time the public is keenly watching every MP in relation to his performance in the chamber and his or her conduct outside Parliament.

He expressed the regret at the media encounter with The Leadership of Parliament put together by the Public Affairs Department where the members of the Parliamentary Press Corps (PPC) were given opportunity to ask questions on various issues relating to the work of Parliament for the first meeting of third Session of the seventh parliament.

The two MPs were captured on video, verbally attacking themselves.

This ‘fight’ followed a submission made by Mutaka Mubarak a day before, on the floor asking the Speaker to drag the MP for Assin Central to The Privileges Committee over his comments directed at the murdered Journalist, Ahmed Suale, in Accra.
