Director of Operations at National Security, Col. Michael Opoku has defended the presence of masked Security operatives at La Bawaleshie on the 31st of last month during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election.

He said they were instructed to monitor and provide surveillance on the election and there is no need to share with the Police what they gathered.

He also spoke on why security operatives had masks on when they stormed the NDC’s candidate house at Ayawaso.

Several masked men stormed the candidate’s house at Bawaleshie on intelligence that some arms were stock piled there.

Col Michael Opoku denied claims that the masks the operatives wore were to protect them from mosquitoes as alleged by DSP Azugu.

Col. Michael Opoku was also shown some videos during the interactions. He said videos provided by the Media have been doctored.
