The National Executive Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended all forms of political activity in the Ashaiman constituency following the death of an aspirant in the party’s upcoming primaries, Emmanuel Max-Voy.

Mr. Max-Voy also known as Martin Luther, died on Monday.

A release from the party signed by Director of Communications, Kakra Essamuah said as a mark of respect, the National Chairman has directed that until the one week observation of the death of Martin Luther, scheduled for the 12th of this month, no campaigning, nor any political activity of the NDC should take place in the Constituency.

The statement described the late politician as a resourceful and loyal member of the party who was poised to take part in the upcoming primaries.

It said the late Mr. Max-Voy did not appear to be in good health during his vetting but still sailed through the process successfully. His death therefore came as a shock to the party.

It said the hierarchy of the NDC led by the National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo had already commiserated with the bereaved family and called on party faithful to stand firm in this time of mourning.
