NPP condemns Banda Ahenkro brawl

The NPP has condemned the brawl that ensued between some of its members and that of the NDC during the ongoing voter registration exercise at Banda Ahenkro leading to the death of a 29-year-old teacher trainee.

The Bono Regional Secretary of the NPP, Kofi Fosu Boateng in an interview with GBC’s Radio Ghana in Sunyani, condemned the incident, describing it as backward.

He called on the Police to be up and doing and bring all those involved in the clash to book.

A violent clash broke out between members of NPP and NDC at a registration Centre in Banda Ahenkro on July 13.

This resulted in the death of a 29-year-old man while others suffered varying degrees of injury.

The Bono Regional Secretary of the NPP, Kofi Fosu Boateng in an interview in Sunyani told Radio Ghana, together with some executives of his Party were at Banda Ahenkro to assess the situation and revealed that some members of the NPP sustained injuries and are receiving treatment at hospitals in Wenchi and Techiman.

He stated that the NPP as a Party condemns the incident describing it as criminal and should not be countenanced.

Mr Boateng further called on the Police to speed up investigations into the matter and prosecute those responsible to serve as a deterrent. He says the NPP is ready to present pictorial and video evidence to support Police Investigations.

He advised Ghanaians to go about their voter registration exercise in civility devoid of violence.
