A Communications Member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region, Mr. Daniel Animah, is projecting a ninety-five percent (95%) endorsement for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the NPP super delegates conference on Saturday.

In an interview with GBC’s Peter Agengre at Nangodi, Mr. Animah insisted that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia remained the most potent candidate to lead the NPP to break the eight-year governance jinx.

“A fruitless tree is the tree that does not attract stones. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) would always use nine out of ten minutes to chastise Bawumia because he remains the primus inter pares in the NPP and politicians in general in the country. So the delegates in the Nabdam Constituency where I come from will give Bawumia ninety-five percent votes in the upcoming conference,” Mr. Animah further stressed.

About 1,000 delegates will be voting at 17 voting centres across the country to prune the 10 aspirants to five for the main contest on November 4 to elect the party’s flag bearer for the 2024 polls.

NPP balloting

Over 250,000 delegates would be voting in the expanded Electoral College, which would include constituency chairmen, regional executives, NPP members of parliament, council members, and representatives of foreign branches, among others.

But Constituency Communications Officer of the NPP in Nabdam, Mr. Daniel Animah holds the conviction that the above delegates have fair knowledge, believe in the ideology of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and will vote massively for him on Saturday.

“Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is a mate. Give him the steering wheel so he decides where the car is supposed to go. For now, he is a mate, so where the driver says they should be moving towards, that’s where he also announces. All the delegates know about this and would endorse Bawumia to break the eight for the NPP,” he stated.
