The Member of Parliament for Asin South, Reverend Ntim Fordjour, has called for an urgent investigation into what he describes as a disturbing misuse of public funds.
His call follows allegations made by a former National Investment Bank (NIB) executive suggesting that GH¢8.3 million may have been diverted to support opposition political party activities.
The allegations, made by Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the former head of the National Signals Bureau, claim that millions of cedis were used to fund political campaigns and influence parliamentary committees.
In a social media post on Thursday, May 8, 2025, Ranking Member of Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee asserted that GH¢8.3 million was used to support the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the 2024 general elections.
This is shocking, scary and a major National Security scandal!!!

According to the former NIB boss, GH¢960,000 was allegedly disbursed to the Defence and Interior Committee in 2020 and 2021 to facilitate the passage of legislation. Additionally, GH¢309,000 was reportedly spent by the Subsidiary Legislation Committee in 2024 to support the approval of a Legislative Instrument. Another GH¢5.135 million was said to have been allocated in December 2024 to pay special aides to President-elect John Mahama.
Reverend Fordjour has described the situation as a national security concern and is urging immediate action.
He has appealed to the Inspector-General of Police, the Auditor-General, and other oversight institutions to investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure accountability for any financial misconduct uncovered.
